For our super fans that noticed there was no newsletter last week, I missed you too. The truth is we were too busy and had to focus on mission critical, selling property.
Too busy… hmmm now where have I heard that before?
In my 20 years of real estate I’ve heard some doozies…just a couple of weeks ago one of our competitors said to one of our clients ‘I wouldn’t choose David, what if he gets COVID?’ (Well to answer your question friend, I think I would self-isolate and hopefully feel better in 14 days).
I mean seriously?? After COVID, the latest lame attempt to criticize us is ‘don’t choose them, they are too busy.’ We are definitely busy…busy making sure nice people don’t choose Muppets to sell their property.
So I thought I’d dedicate this newsletter to how to identify Muppets.
Honestly, there are two questions that are a dead giveaway that the agent you are talking to is a Muppet. Firstly, if they ask you what price you are after before they provide you with a clear opinion on value that is a big red flag. Our job isn’t too get you your minimum, it’s to put you in the best position to get you the maximum.
Secondly, if an agent walks into your home and is curious about which other agents you may be talking to…waka waka waka! A sales pitch based on why you shouldn’t choose someone else isn’t a sales pitch, it’s a sign that agent has nothing to offer (except hilarious gags and maybe some music).
Ok…I’ve vented…feeling much better.
What’s happening out there? A lot. The market has now entered its final phase for 2021…there are 14 weeks left until Christmas kids. That means if you want to sell this year you have about four weeks to get on the market. My guess is we are going to see a lot of activity now and then a very quiet early 2022. Why? Summer! Then we enter the lead up to a 2022 Federal election which historically means the market will go quiet.
Before I sign off a few more Muppet indicators for you, loud socks, no socks, sunnies indoors, ear pods, personalized plates, designer beards (on men and women)…send me more!
Until next week,
David Murphy
